Hi, I’m Ashley…

I seek to make lasting impacts on this world and contribute to meaningful work that I believe in. I’ve spent the majority of my career as a fundraiser for nonprofit organizations connecting passionate people to causes and values they believe in. In doing so, the organization's I’ve worked for see growth - but most importantly, relationships are strengthened and the mission is impacting people’s lives. Through my work, I’m blessed to be able to inspire and engage people, and encourage them to be in a relationship with the organization they are supporting, because after all, giving is not a transaction - it’s a relationship (but more on that in a future blog post!).

I found my path to nonprofit fundraising while working in television on a show whose host was a very passionate philanthropist. He used his platform to bring awareness to certain causes, which inspired me to do the same.

Growing up, I was always performing. Beginning at age 3 you could find me front & center in the church choir, and from there I would perform in every recital, numerous soloist performances at church, sing for weddings and funerals, obtain lead roles in school musicals and plays, secure roles in community theatre, and ultimately audition for and win a musical theater performance scholarship to attend a private liberal arts school known for its exceptional Musical Theatre program in New York City. To this day, I still perform as a vocalist and dancer.

I come from a middle/working class family who instilled within me a life-long curiosity, and desire to continuously learn and improve. My family taught me grit, resourcefulness, and accountability – but most of all they taught me that I could have, become, and do anything if I put in the effort.

I enjoy learning and am always reading. If not learning or reading, I’m out in nature hiking or biking. You can also find me refining my dancing skills, working out, singing or playing the piano. I am a proud first-generation college graduate who aims to pursue my God-given right to life and liberty.

How it all began…

I consider myself a vocalist first, and a dancer second. My formal dance training has been in ballet, tap, and most recently, I’ve been performing aerial dance - specifically using the silks apparatus.

As a vocalist, I have a broad range and enjoy performing myriad styles of music. Most recently, I can be found singing mezzo soprano in the church choir, or on the 8-person praise team, singing a mix of classic hymns and modern worship songs. Additionally, I continue to be invited to sing patriotic songs for various town functions including Memorial, Veterans and Independence Day events. I enjoy singing jazz, country, rock and roll, funk and musical theater styles as well.
